Jean-Philippe (J.P.) Laplagne is a native of the San Francisco Bay area. Art and photography have been a staple in his family for generations so when at the age of 13 he received his first camera, it felt right at home in his hands. J.P. studied photography and communication arts at Portland State University. After college he traveled to Europe and found no lack of subjects for his camera.
J.P. focused on his graphic design career in advertising and moved to New York City. There he continued his interest in photography. In 1994 he moved to Washington, DC. and started his freelance business, Dodger Design Studio. For the past eleven years, he has worked as a freelance art director.

After years of friends and family prodding him, he decided to turn his photographic talent into a professional pursuit. His work has been well received and appears regularly in galleries and private showings.
In 2004, a new chapter for Dodger Design Studio began with the introduction of a line of greeting cards featuring JP's photography. Besides greeting cards, the list of products offered now includes calendars, note pads, refrigerator magnets, bookmarks, coffee mugs, and mouse pads. Down the road, Dodger Design will expand its product list to include t-shirts, postcards, and other products.
